March 10th, 2012

On March 5th I walked Greenlake with my boyfriends mom but my main tourist attraction took place a few days later on March 10th and 11th. For my March tourist attraction I headed to Mt Baker with my boyfriend and his friends for a weekend of skiing. The drive took about 2 and a half hours. When we got to the base of the mountain the snow was coming down like crazy. We had about two feet of fresh powder which was incredible to ski through. While up there it snowed probably another foot. After skiing all day we settle into a cabin for the night. I’ve never been to Mt Baker but it was the best skiing I’ve seen in Washington and I will definitely be back next season.

I am also taking another trip up to Birch Bay to take in the coast later in the month.

Next month I’ll be headed to La Conner to take in the Tulip Festival with my friend Stacy and maybe some local sights too as it will be her first visit to Seattle.

It’s strange to be a tourist in your own city but its amazing what treasures you find.
